Hadithi Crafts, our longtime partner for woven products and beadwork is certified through Nest’s Ethical Handcraft program. This means that all their beadwork products meet the highest standards for ethical production in home or small workshop settings.

Through Nest’s Ethical Handcraft program, Hadithi Crafts has demonstrated their commitment to transparency and visibility into the deepest layers of our supply chain. They are committed to providing safe working conditions and fair economic opportunities for the artisans and handworkers that are part of our supply chain.
What have you done to achieve this? ”Central to this initiative is our Hadithi Artisan Manual. The manual includes all our policies on topics such as harassment prevention, child labor eradication, and workplace rights. It also introduces confidential reporting structures, growing trust, safety, and open communication. To ensure these values are reinforced, training on the manual is conducted annually and inspection quarterly. Another key element is for Hadithi Crafts to have up to date records of contracts and ID cards on file for every artisan we work with so there are no hidden workers, nor underage artisans. There are record- and bookkeeping requirements for groups leadership, for example to ensure every artisans signs for their membership and each income received, and every complaint or grievance is actioned upon. We helped all our 65 artisan groups with Group governance, leadership and in depth Artisan Manual trainings to develop essential skills for group management, accountability, and conflict resolution. **We are hugely proud to have been successfully certified!**In this certification all our BEADWORK is included: bracelets, keychains, magnets, dog collars and beaded jewellery. We have implemented the Artisan Manual with all our artisans, but our other product categories of baskets and sewn animals are NOT included in our Certification (YET) as this pursuit will require more efforts and funds.”
What does it mean for brands that produce their own collections with you? Hadithi Crafs is now certified through Nest’s Ethical Handcraft program. This means that all beadwork within our assortment meet the highest standards for ethical production and are eligible to bear the consumer-facing Ethical Handcraft Seal in market.
